I devised, developed and produced Small Changes for The Guardian.
The Guardian’s Global Development section had been running a monthly podcast - which I also co-produced - for a few years, but wanted to try something new. I was tasked with overhauling the podcast and developing a new format. They wanted a more frequent podcast that would work on the same budget as the old monthly edition, but which could still take a close look at stories from across the world.
What I came up with (working with Global Development’s long-time presenter Lucy Lamble) was Small Changes, a limited series of one-on-one interviews with people who've seen a problem in the world and set out to change it - often in small and unexpected ways.
My work on Small Changes won me the Best News & Current Affairs Producer Silver Award at the 2018 Audio Production Awards.
